About the Lemberg Fire Department
The fire department is strictly volunteer and members do not receive any pay or remuneration to attend a fire call and training. All money received goes directly to the department for upgrades to equipment and training costs. Practice and meetings are on-going monthly in order to stay prepared for emergency situations.
We continue to be active and prepared should an emergency fire situation arise in the community and surrounding rural areas.
The department had recently met with Stars Air Ambulance to arrange a landing strip and to ensure proper gear is in place to assist with a landing should it necessary at some point. Some members recently attended a fire school in Nipawin and brought back valuable training and information to share with the rest of the members. Late in 2014, at the cost of $12000, the main truck pump had to be re-built.
At the present time the fire department is expanding their present building. The present building, built in 1972, a 2 bay fire hall, housed 2 fire trucks. Today the building is now housing 3 units, plus 2 trailer along with other emergency fire equipment The first responders are also storing their emergency equipment in this building.
We have outgrown the space that was once available for a meeting room. The cramped space makes its difficult to access the emergency equipment in quick manner. Some equipment is already be stored off-site which causes concern for the efficiency to the access of this equipment.
The ground work was done in the fall of 2015, to erect a 36x40 addition to the east side of the existing building. The cement work and walls were erected in the fall of 2015. The wiring and insulation is currently being done, with hopes to have the building completed in the summer of 2016.
The Fire department had some funds available to start this project however they do not have enough funds to cover the full cost. They needed to fund-raise around $47000, so letters were sent out to organizations and a general mailing was done in order to canvas our community and surrounding areas to help with the cost of the addition.
We would like to thank all the organizations and individuals for their donations. We are very proud to have a facility like this to help service our community and surrounding areas . Donations can be made to the Fire Department at the Town Office in Lemberg.

At Pattison's they are proud of our local fire department. A small way for them to show appreciation is by donating this mobile fire unit. Thank you for all your hard work and keeping us safe.
